About me

Welcome to my web page. I am William A. (Arnold) Tweed, a retired anesthesiologist living in Toronto, Canada with my wife, Glenyce. I graduated from the University of Manitoba Medical School in 1964 and did a 12 month rotating interneship at the Winnipeg General Hospital. In those days that was sufficient to obtain a general license to practice medicine. Internes were responsible for much of the front line care of patients and rarely left the hospital. Their hours and workloads would be considered abusive now, but then it was part of the rites of passage. Some of my stories are from that era.
I have had a varied and stimulating career as a physician in the Royal Canadian Navy, general practitioner, emergency physician, intensivist and anesthesiologist. My CV and publications are available online and the links can be found in the About section.
